Last but not least, while I might not have gotten to keep Pseudophoraspis sp. "Kota Kinabalu", Jonah did send me a surprise group of Epilamprinae sp. "Borneo", a species that's been established in culture in the US for a little while now. Jonah is the one who actually introduced them to culture in the first place! 😁
However, I asked him for more specific locale information, since they've merely been referred to as Epilamprinae sp. "Borneo" all this time, and he told me that he collected these (and all the other roaches he sent me) from the Kota Kinabalu area in Sabah, Malaysia. So, the strain name for this species should be changed to Epilamprinae sp. "Kota Kinabalu" until further notice.
Kyle from Roachcrossing seems to think these should be considered a Pseudophoraspis species after seeing the Pseudophoraspis sp. "Kota Kinabalu" nymphs in person... But having also seen the two in person, I strongly disagree, the nymph morphology of these Epilamprinae sp. is completely different, not to mention the adults do not look like they belong in Pseudophoraspis at all IMO. These look way more closely related to Rhabdoblatta than Pseudophoraspis IMO.
I have my dozen or so nymphs in a moderately ventilated gallon container with a thin layer of coconut fiber as the substrate, with bark and leaf litter as hides. I'm keeping them humid and warm (75-80F°). I'm feeding them dog food and fruits.

It's a neat species for sure, I'm looking forward to seeing adults in person, and hopefully breeding them! 😁
