A Couple New Inverts from Roachcrossing!

Thanks to Kyle, I've finally got my Eleodes osculans strain back! 😁 Been wanting to breed these cuties again for a while, and it's always nice to get back strains that I helped introduce to the hobby. This specific stock was collected by Brandon Woo in 2017 from Robert E. Ward Nature Preserve, CA. He sent his larvae to me so I could rear them up, I distributed them to hobbyists afterwards, and then left the hobby in late 2018. All these years later, this particular bloodline has persisted in culture, and I was able to reacquire them. 😄

I've got my two sexed pairs set up in a well ventilated enclosure with an inch deep layer of a 50/50 coconut fiber and sand mix, with a tad of fine clay mixed in as well. I'm keeping a third of the substrate humid, the rest dry, and am feeding them dog food. They're being kept at around 75F°.

Next up, a species Junkai Wang collected for me, them gave to Kyle to send to me, Eumesosoma cf. roeweri "George M. Sutton Wilderness Park, OK". These are black, velvety harvestmen, and patches on their legs look like they're covered in copper/gold iridescence. 😍 A very beautiful, Fall breeding species, that will hopefully start ovipositing for me soon!

I've got my two sexed pairs set up in a moderately ventilated container, with a layer of coconut fiber and sandy clay mixed together as the substrate. On top of this I have various pieces of bark, leaf litter, and cardboard tubes of hides. I'm keeping them rather humid, but might let them dry out a tad in between waterings. I'm feeding them springtails, dog food, fruits and prekilled inverts. Keeping them at room temps, so low 70s F°.
