Stenopelmatus Update

Hi guys, I'm back! I am using my mom's computer to do my blog posts now, so I can finally start posting again!

So all of my Jerusalem crickets are doing swell, and they are all growing. Two in particular have gotten huge, Ripper recently molted and grew in size, but the largest one now is Swirl, she is an absolute beast! Still, she is not mature yet, at least I think don't so.

Here are some pictures of the two:

I can't wait until they all start maturing, turns out I am pretty short on males though, so hopefully my females won't eat them when I attempt to breed them!

Anyway, that's it for today. I hope you guys enjoyed this post, and I'll see you all next time! :)

  1. The one with the funky segments is really interesting. Awesome how they've lived so long under your care.

    1. Yep, this type of segment deformation can make for some really cool looking individuals. Plus it causes no harm to the cricket. :) I think the two main reasons why these guys don't live too long are that people assume they are herbivores and feed them as such, and sometimes people get these as adults, which usually only live a few months. Juveniles can take over two years to mature, that is why mine have lived so long.
